QUOTES
Head Coach Nathan Thackeray
On his message to the team…
“We just have to keep pushing through. Moments like that happen all the time, it’s a part of the sport. We have to try to overcome those mistakes. The group has to keep believing, we played some really good stuff today and our biggest problem was putting the ball in the back of the net.”
Forward Chioma Ubogagu
On DTFC’s overall performance…
“I think in the first half we had good looks and good opportunities. I felt like we were in control. I felt like their goal came off one chance. That’s on us to be better defensively, but I think the team was hopeful the whole game, I think we thought we could get results out of it. We’re going to keep pushing forward and we’ll learn from this and the best part is we have a game this weekend, so we have another opportunity to make it right.”
Defender Amber Wisner
On preparing for the next match…
“I think the positive is that the performance was good. I don’t think it’s a ton of tweaks or a bunch of changes. It’s just honing in on a couple of the defensive errors, being a little bit tidier on the ball. The good news is it’s not like we have to start from scratch and revamp everything. It’s just about building on the actual performance and ultimately we need to finish.”
