Drew Coomans (25) – Defender
Career Bio
Dallas Trinity FC adds positional versatility and a remarkable success story with the signing of Drew Coomans, a Princeton standout who transitioned from forward to defender in her senior season and immediately became one of the best in the Ivy League.
A Long Beach, California native, Coomans spent three years as an attacking threat at Princeton before shifting to left back in 2025 due to injuries depleting the team’s backline. In her very first season playing defense, she helped Princeton overcome a 1-2 conference start to win the Ivy League title, holding opponents to just 0.43 goals per game over the final stretch. The performance earned her Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year — the first Princeton player to win the award since 2013 — along with First-Team All-Ivy honors.
Coomans turned heads at the professional level as well, training with the Portland Thorns in 2025 and with Bay FC during the April 2026 international window, before going through the NWSL Combine in December 2025.
Now Coomans brings her elite versatility and defensive instincts to Dallas Trinity FC, reuniting with former Princeton teammates Aria Nagai and Heather MacNab as the club continues its push in the Gainbridge Super League.
