Career Bio

Dallas Trinity FC brings international pedigree to its midfield with the signing of Sophia Braun, a full Argentina international with a World Cup goal to her name.

Born in Beaverton, Oregon, Braun holds dual U.S.-Argentine citizenship through her mother’s side of the family and has represented Argentina at the senior level since 2021. She was a slow burner at Gonzaga University, failing to crack the starting lineup in her first two seasons before working her way up to team captain by the time she graduated. That perseverance has defined her career: at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Braun scored Argentina’s first-ever goal in tournament history, a 74th-minute strike against South Africa that her mother watched live from the stands in New Zealand.

Braun turned professional in Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil before signing with the Kansas City Current, where she made history as the first NWSL player ever loaned to the USL Super League when she joined Spokane Zephyr FC in 2024. She went on to sign permanently with Spokane, becoming a key midfield piece before the club folded in 2026.

Now with 55 caps and a World Cup goal for Argentina, Braun brings a wealth of international experience to Dallas Trinity FC, reuniting with former Spokane Zephyr teammate Allison Cook as the club continues its push in the Gainbridge Super League.
