The midfielder and goalkeeper duo join the club through the end of the 2026 season
DALLAS (August 3, 2026) – Dallas Trinity FC today announced that midfielder Sofia Cedeño and goalkeeper Neeku Purcell have been loaned from Seattle Reign FC of the National Women’s Soccer League through the end of the 2026 NWSL season. The duo will reunite with former Reign FC Assistant Coach Lee Nguyen, who was named Dallas Trinity FC’s First Team Manager and Technical Director on July 2.

Cedeño, a Dallas native, signed with Seattle Reign FC through the 2028 NWSL season ahead of the 2026 campaign. The 19-year-old midfielder made her NWSL debut on March 20 against Portland Thorns FC and most recently represented the United States at the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team’s July training camp. Born in Panama City, Panama and raised in Dallas, Cedeño developed at Solar SC before forgoing her commitment to UCLA to turn professional. Her arrival at Dallas Trinity FC marks her first professional stint in her hometown.
Purcell, a Seattle native and Reign Academy product, signed a multi-year contract extension through the 2028 NWSL season on July 1. The 22-year-old goalkeeper originally joined the club on a short-term replacement player contract in 2025 before signing a one-year contract ahead of the 2026 campaign. Purcell also brings previous Gainbridge Super League experience, having played for Brooklyn FC during the league’s inaugural season — a stint that ended with her becoming the first non-loan transfer from the USL Super League to the NWSL in the history of both leagues. She most recently represented the United States at the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team’s June training camp.

Cedeño, originaria de Dallas, firmó con Seattle Reign FC hasta la temporada 2028 de la NWSL antes del inicio de la campaña 2026.
