Gamero, Castain, and Hamid all get on the scoresheet for Dallas’ first win and shutout of the 2026 Fall Season
DALLAS (September 5, 2026) – Dallas Trinity FC ((1-1-2), 4 points) defeated Brooklyn FC ((0-0-4), 0 points), 3-0, on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl Stadium.
Dallas Trinity FC came out on the front foot in its first matchup against Brooklyn FC this season, opening the scoring in the 8th minute. Forward Onyeka Gamero found the back of the net off an assist from Camryn Lancaster, recording the first professional goal of her career and giving Dallas an early 1-0 lead.
Dallas continued to apply pressure and doubled its advantage in the 28th minute when forward Seven Castain scored her second goal of the season. Midfielder Jamie Shepherd was credited with the assist, sending Dallas into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Dallas continued to control the match in the second half, creating opportunities while keeping Brooklyn off the scoresheet. In the 88th minute, forward Jasmine Hamid added a third goal off an assist from defender Sydney Cheesman to put Dallas ahead 3-0.
The goal marked the 15th of Hamid’s career, while goalkeeper Neeku Purcell recorded her first clean sheet of the season against her former club as Dallas closed out the night with 3-0 victory. The first win of the season for Dallas Trinity FC in the 2026 Fall Season, and the first win as a head coach for Lee Nguyen.

You always want to beat the team you used to play for, so this one definitely felt good. The win is three points, but you always want a clean sheet and a win, so I’ll take tonight for sure.”

“In practice I’ve been working really hard to join our other side when they’re attacking. Rather than just creating chances, I want to finish on the end of other people’s chances. I tried really hard to get into the box, and I was there at the right time and I got a goal from it, so I’m really proud.”

Y creo que mi línea defensiva frente a mí, todos, empezando por las delanteras, porque ese es el objetivo y por eso conseguimos la portería imbatida.
Siempre quieres ganarle al equipo donde jugabas antes, así que esta definitivamente se sintió bien. La victoria son tres puntos, pero siempre quieres una portería imbatida y una victoria, así que definitivamente me quedo con esta noche.”

“En los entrenamientos he estado trabajando muy duro para incorporarme al otro lado cuando estamos atacando. En lugar de simplemente crear oportunidades, quiero terminar las jugadas que crean mis compañeras. Traté muy fuerte de entrar al área, y estuve en el lugar correcto en el momento correcto. De ahí salió el gol, así que estoy muy orgullosa.”
